On August 22, 2001 the University of Utah aquired MCY 24525 from the California Regional Primate Research Center. She was born at the CRPRC on December 1, 1975. Her CRPRC records begin on January 15, 1989. The entries are as follows.

On January 25, 1989, she was given a full physical examination. She had blood drawn, and was given a rectal swab for microbial cultures to test for salmonella, shigella, and other afflictions.

On March 21, 1989, she was moved from "QU10-6 to SW1605-83."

On May 22, 1990, she had blood drawn again.

March 6, 1991: "administration of drug or substance, intramuscular peptonized iron, cyanocobalamin, 29 days."

November 7, 1991: Blood was drawn again.

Aug 12, 1992: "Exp. Intervention Levonoregestrel (Hormone)"

She is administered this hormone 5 more times in the time span of 6 months.

Jan 19, 1994: Blood was drawn.

May 24, 1994: She was moved.

June 30, 1994: Moved again

Sep 8, 1995: Moved again.

Sep 15, 1995: Moved again.

Sep 20, 1995: Moved again.

October 26, 1995: Blood was drawn.

Jan 14, 1998: Moved.

Feb 24, 1998: Blood was drawn.

May 14, 1998: Moved again.

Dec 15, 1998: Moved again.

October 30, 2000: Blood was drawn.

April 6, 2001: Blood was drawn.

July 11, 2001: The CRPRC physical exam for "pre-shipment" (to the University of Utah) notes that the monkey has... "dislocated joints on D3 [digit 3] on R-hand [Right hand], D5 on R-ft [right foot], missing D2 on R-hand. Thickened bowel, and mild cataracts." It is also noted that her... "musculoskeletal, circulatory, and digestive organ systems all appear to be abnormal." A footnote on circulatory system reveals she has "mild kyphosis
T-L."

She is shipped to U of U August 15, 2001.

She is noted as being received on U of U records on August 22, 2001.

Judging from the signatures on the daily care log, she appears to have switched care veterinarians on February 11, 2002.

February 11, 2002: The daily care log notes: "Seems depressed."

February 12, 2002: The log says: "still mildly depressed, eating."

This brief glimpse into the laboratory life of MCY 24524 would have been impossible without the efforts of Jeremy Beckham. Thank you Jeremy.
